BEFORE I had fink I installed the expat module WITHOUT
modifications to the source. I then tried unistalling
it because it told me that there was a bunch of stuff
wrong when I ran the pakage manager.
Have a fubared my PERL and do I need to reintsall/root
out more files before installing fi
I don't see expat listed in the Fink PERL packages, it
is in the C library though. Parser is in there, but I
was under the impression one had to install expat
first. Can I install the C library for Expat, do I
just install Parser, or am I SOL.

I am having tourble installing gnome. The first
symptom that the
installer gives me options like if I want a GIF format
w/ or w/out
LWZ compression. It askes this 2 or 3 times and then
moves on
to the real problem.
Fink tells me that the downloads server won't work, I

Know that in a former time
I can't seem to download the perl module XML::simple.
Either the server doesn't have it or I get an
incomplete download. Can I download this from CPAN
and just redirect Fink to it? Fink does just install
the files into new places right?

I _had_ minicom working! I did a fresh install to get rid of a bunch of
X11 problems and now it won't work. When I type minicom into the
command prompt it tells me there is no config file. When I type minicom
-s or sudo minicom -s I get a blank line. Meanwhile Activity monitor
goes crazy as the
