I have been trying to install Fink unsuccessfully for a couple hours now
onto my mac OSX 10.7.5.

Part of it depends if it is a true PDF with the source text imbedded in
it somewhere or if it is a PDF of the scanned image.
Try opening it up with a text editor/viewer and look to see if you can
find some of the body text.
If you cannot, then it is a PDF-ified image and OCR is your only hope.

I am running OS X 10.2.4
When trying to install fink, everything worked fine up to the point where I
had to enter directly into the terminal. I got this error:
pico: Command not found
I tried from both my home directory and the root. What's up? Other
commands that are supposed to be simple
-- just have a decent HTML mode with color-coding...
but which one... ah, there's the rub...
They say that the only really dumb question is the one you don't
ask, so at least I'm avoiding that... TIA.

Tools that breaks XDarwin.app's creation. Remove the 'rogue'
XDarwin.App from /Applications and use dselect to install the binary
