[Fink-beginners] first impressions of Fink

Hi. After four months, I finally took the plunge and installed Fink and Fink Commander last night. WOW! That about sums it up. My only gripe has been the 47MB download for XFree over a dial-up connection. I used the instructions in Fun With Fink. This will be an instant classic when published!

Hi. Debs are in the directory /sw/fink/debs and once in a while that comes in handy. E.g. when you don't like the new version of a fink package and want to go back to a previous one, you can fink remove the package and then issue a command like sudo dpkg -i /sw/fink/debs/oldpackage.deb to get the
