[Fink-devel] compiling ant-1.5-2 failed

2002-11-13 Thread Bogus EMail Address
Got the following error, fixed by adding execute permissions to ./build.sh in the Archive "jakarta-ant-1.5-src.zip". Possibly this is because I was using bash instead of the default shell? Dunno, didn't investigate. (P.S.: I lurk here, so if you post a reply to this list, I'll respond.) -- K

[Fink-devel] fink 0.5.0

2002-11-13 Thread Peter Sturdza
I understand you guys need more testing of the packages that haven't moved out of the unstable 10.2 tree. Well, I'm just a user and really don't look forward to spending hours waiting for stuff to compile that may not work, so I'd like to make a suggestion. If it is possible without draining too

[Fink-devel] FAQ & packaging reference: Suggests vs Recommends vs Enhances?

2002-11-13 Thread Carsten Klapp
Hi All, Here are some more questions and answers I'd like to see added to Fink FAQ and Packaging Reference. Q1: As a package maintainer the purpose of the "Depends" field is fairly obvious to me, but what are the distinctions between the "Recommends", "Suggests" and "Enhances" fields? (Please

[Fink-devel] xfree86-threaded splitoff issue

The rootless xfree86-threaded rootless splitoff has this in its files list: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/doc/html/gl*.html This expands to 1622 files. Fink moves them all in one mv command, which breaks if you have your base dir in a reasonably long path (from on IRC): mv /Volumes/HighEnergy
