Hi,
        I, for one, am interested in this.  It a feature of autotoolized
packages that is underutilized IMO -- many aren't even aware of "make
check", which is how broken packages get installed without notice.  It's
not a catch-all test, but I'd be happy to see this implemented.  Even if
it is not used in many packages, perhaps this might encourage developers
to adopt "make check" as common practice.  Perhaps "make installcheck",
even less common, could be added under InstallCheckScript?
