A philosophical question: is there a real difference in content of the posts on fink-devel and fink-users? I realize that in principle one is for developers of fink and fink packages while the other one is for its users, however the posts are really very similar and if one looks for solutions to

When making a "fink update-all" I get: Can't resolve dependency "system-java16-dev" for package "octave-3.8.2-1" (no matching packages/versions found) I tried installing the latest java sdk (1.8.0_25) but still get this message, probably because octave want java 1.6 which does not exist on Yose
