I'm trying to bootstrap fink from the source tarball on the download page
onto a machine running WWDC Leopard, but I'm having issues. Is there a
specific tag I can check out from CVS that is known to work?
Thanks,

The goal of Computer Science is to build something that will last at
least until we
create a deb, but what is the
preferred way of dealing with that in the info file so that end users
can build without manually messing with the file name?
Thanks,

. The /etc/csh.cshrc is read
before the local .cshrc or .tcshrc of csh and tcsh. This could even be
done automatically during the fink setup.
This would be vulnerable to being stepped on by future system updates
from Apple.

Zope doesn't work with 2.2. It's an upstream problem, not a fink
problem.

The fink I'm using was cvs updated last night or this morning. I'm
using the December devtools.
[jpb@athena:/sw/src]$ fink --version
Package manager version: 0.11.1
Distribution version: 0.5.1.cvs
[jpb@athena:/sw/src]$
It was driving me nuts because it was working bef
with we like (except www
of course!).
Some suggestions:
web.fink.org
home.fink.org
project.fink.org
sw.fink.org
get.fink.org
install.fink.org
go.fink.org
goto.fink.org
this.is.fink.org
osx.fink.org
macosx.fink.org
I'm partial to get, install and osx myself.

Hand massaging rc.local, that's icky. StartupItems are actually
pretty elegant, IMO.

The main reason for having such an account still holds, namely, that I

A friend is someone you can call t
ll the requirements of all the StartupItems (in both /System/Library/StartupItems and /Library/StartupItems) and then traverses the graph and starts all the items.
Much nicer than having to figure out the order yourself.
