Hanspeter, The only gcc4x release in 10.7 stable will be gcc46 (or later). There should be no issues updating fftw from gcc44 to gcc46. In any case, you should have an InfoTest in fftw.info that will verify that the compiled code is passing its testsuite. Every package in 10.7 stable should ut
