The other dependencies seems to be ok.

Ok, but I've been trying to get it to build since Wednesday and have been
getting the same results every time.

Try running "fink update pgplot-perl" in a new terminal window. It looks
like the PGPLOT_DIR environment variable is set to /sw/pgplot, instead of
/sw/lib/pgplot. If you updated pgplot and haven't re-executed
/sw/bin/init.csh, the old (incorrect) setting will still be in effect.

Dude very good, work it's very nice and usable now. I'm very impressed
and will try using it for awhile to see what feedback i can give you. as
for now i think fink scanpackages just be run before apt-get update, for
the apt update feature, but I'll coment more after more usage, keep up the

there are two solutions, I'm testing one right now and it's in the info
file, which is very easy.
the other where i think the problem extends from is the FT package should
be moved to %p/include/freetype/freetype which would fix it for all pkgs.
But i'm testing things right now.

I wrote a patch for this probrem and testing it now. If it successfully
works, I'll put it into CVS. It will took one or more days.

I give up for now: Now mozilla-1.0rc1 doesn't build any more either:

Mr. Morrison,
Thanks for the help, I would have responded sooner but your email didn't

Aha! It's a version downgrade (0.6.8 to 0.6.7). Try 'fink
install oaf-0.6.7'.

ahh okay I now see your point. the other way would be to reset the
include. I'll try that.

Interestingly enough, I just built qt2-2.3.2-1 yesterday with no problems.
I'm using the latest fink xfree86 release.

Cambridge,
I've seen this problem before occasionally when updating a package from a
pre-splitoff version to a splitoff version. What happens when you just do
'fink install oaf'?

My reading is that, since ftglyph.h be
4.2 from fink unstable, and I too compiled mozilla 1.0rc1 with out any
problems. I'm gonna remove freetype2 and try again...will post my
findings.

I'll look it up.
OK, so the plot thickens:
This error seems to be closely related to the failure I get from trying
to compile qt2.
The line where mozilla breaks down is
/sw/include/freetype2/freetype/ftglyph.h:104

and the line where my compilation of qt2 or qt-2.3.1 breaks d

I just skimmed through this, but to me if I'm following, it would include
them all, now the order would only matter for redefs, but the question is,
does it need both, or only expect one? Are there #ifdef or #ifndef
statements? maybe the freetype stuff should be #ifdef HAVE_FREETYPE2 blah
#else

I've built and run mozilla 1.0rc2-1. I _don't_ have freetype installed,

I got a bug report from Peter N. Lewis about something similar.
Something had made /sw/bin/tar and /sw/bin/gzip zero length on
his system. This sounds like the same thing.
If you "sudo rm /sw/bin/tar /sw/bin/gzip" things may begin to
work again..
You should then of course rebuild/reinstall fi

I have no idea whether this is related, but there is something fishy
going on with subprocesses in emacs.
