A couple of things: Did you set up your environment as in the fink faq for compiling packages yourself (i.e. setting env variables in your .cshrc)? I kinda doubt you did or it would have seen gtk+2 and gtkspell would have seen the parts of aspell it needs. Did you look at the fink package patch

Very recently I started having problems with maintaining my fink distribution, which uses the curl utility to download source packages for local building. Curl seems unable to properly download anything. I passed it the --verbose flag to try and get more info, and here's the output of a session:

Okay trying to compile Gaim once again here under OS X.2.4.. Ive gotten Gaim's ./configure to finally find both my Glib 2 and my GTK+ 2 files. Now it keeps telling me I need gtkspell. Tried using --disable-gtkspell but it still stops at the PKG_MODULE_CHECK for it and wont go any further. gtksp
