Tkinter comes with all Python distributions by default since 1.5 or so.
So, just try to import it by doing:
from Tkinter import *
or
import Tkinter
if you don't like namespace pollution.
REMARK: Tkinter is configured for X Window System only, not for Aqua.
Actually, there's no Tkinter for Aq
Hi Daniel,
just wanted to report that I finally tried the installation
instructions for
lyx-1.3.2 for X11 and QT2 at http://www.18james.com, and the
menu shortcuts all seem to work fine. I meanwhile did this installation
on 3 different Macs. The "good" thing for this lyx installation is that

I'm going to say.)
There's an announcement on the Fink homepage as well, advising users
that builds may not work with the update, and a proposal now on
fink-devel about a fix for the problem.

In all fariness, there has been a lot of discussion of this on the
list, and when gcc3.3 first came out there were specific warnings
that a lot of packages might not work with it (check the archives).
I am noted for being pretty dense (such as not seeing that a site

If gcc 3.3 is again responsible for this, I think fink either needs to
fix this now or tell people not to install the patch. Merely switching
back to 3.1 doesn't solve these problems.

I got the answer (to my own question) from the mysql user
mailing list:
It was a case-sensivity bug: myFineDb vs. myfinedb
- I was told this bug does not exist in mysql 4.0.x
any more.
For the time being I will work around this bug by just
typing myfinedb instead of myFineDb

the same version of fort77 is available from the binary distribution,
though, so you can install it that way and skip the testing.

Weird. I poked around in the tarball and found that the actual code
content of foo.f and bar.F is the same. Do you have Fink on a UFS
partition?

what looked like useless info. the entire thing:
(cd tests; ./test.pl -v)
./fort77 -c foo.f ... test successful.
./fort77 -c bar.F ..."bar.o" not generated by "( ./fort77 -c bar.F )

./fort77 -c -o gargle.o
It's usually not a good idea to snip your error message if you have a
problem: you're cutting out information. Try pasting the entire
output of the test where your fort77 build fails into a mail message.

Hello,
What works for me with mysql 3.23.49 of Debian GNU/Linux (Woody),
does not any more with mysql 3.23.56 of fink (current-stable,
for fink cf. fink.sf.net) - I am not sure, if this problem is caused
by the mysql version (some security changes between .49 and .56)
or by the fink configuration
Hi all,
I see there was some conversation about this last week. Did
anyone ever come up with a resolution? I have a similar
setup to the original writer, with gcc-3.1.
Thanks!
