A while ago i wrote the list about my X11 woes installing GTK apps. I was helpfully told to delete my X11 and reinstall it and make sure the system-xfree86 and system-xfree86-dev are installed. I did that on one machine (an ibook g4) and it was fine. So I decided to go back and try the same
