I am using dselect to update to 10.3 but I ran in a pb with emacs 20 (which
I did not even remember installing)... that I cannot now remove... nor
reinstall...
Is there a way to force remove it or force reinstall it which can fix this
pb?
PS: I fixed my /sw/etc/apt/sources.list which now contain
acs20_20.7-16_darwin-powerpc.deb

still dselect believe it is in a bad state and choke on it... there must be
a database somewhere which specify this "state"... is it editable?

In fact, I ended up editing by hand:
sudo xemacs var/lib/dpkg/status
and this seems to fix my pb... I am not sure if this will cause pb in the
future or no... We will see.

I just installed the fink postfix (the stable one)... if I shutdown
the apple one and start the fink one with the command line, am I
going to run in troubles (having binaries in /sw and the regular OSX
location) or each postfix "knows" where are located all the other
binaries (imapd/smtpd/p
ds the user in this db...
Not being an expert in postfix and all these things (TLS/SASL...
etc) , I am not sure if I did everything as supposed... Anyway, I am
now able to use postgrey... and this was the intended result.

I installed the binary version of Xemacs yesterday (with sumo and efs I
believe) and when launching it I got a /sw/lib/libdl.dylib missing.
I installed dlcompat and wverything works fine.
PS: the xemacs maintainer may want to add this dependency.

Does the fink rsync package include a version of rsync able to deal with

As reported yesterday, I have some problems with psync under OSX with files
on a distant AFP server (another OSX machine) end up with one or two second
of mtime difference.
I modified psync to use another signature (mtime/60)... not perfect, but it
sure solves my problem.
