Hi all - I hesitated, and maybe I should have continue to hesitate. But I am giving in and posting this. I do hope that I am not wasting anyone's time. But....Running MacOS 10.1.2
I have been using the steps listed on this site (http://fink.sourceforge.net/download/index.php) in order to download the installer disk image: Fink 0.3.1 Binary Installer - 7.0 MB. After reading a number of positive experiences re: using this approach, I am really hoping to use this approach to getting started. A number of times I've followed the steps on the site (the URL indicated above) and get to the point of what you see in 1. below...I am getting the "command not found" message. As you see, I *can get to the Debian dselect screen by typing in "/sw/bin/dselect" But then, as you see below, when I highlighted and then pressed enter to select "Update", I get message indicating need for superuser. I tried last week too, and tried running as root. I got what you see in 2. below. 1. __________________ Welcome to Darwin! I did look actually...and I am willing to read etc. I have overlooked something I know. Are there any suggestions ? I've done the process (I think) a number of times, using sudo rm -rf /sw to remove Fink SW each time. Again, thanks for any input or direction that might be possible.
