Hi, I'm trying to build darcs, but the package ghc 6.8.2-1 fails. The machine is 10.5 ppc with xcode 3.1.4. The error is: ../compiler/stage1/ghc-inplace -M -optdep-f -optdep.depend-BASE -osuf o -I../includes -H16m -O -I/sw/include -L/sw/lib -iutils - ibasicTypes -itypes -ihsSyn

Ubuntu apt (I've not used debian but ubuntu is a derivative) has post-install hooks. Something that calls 'fink rebuild' on all installed packages that 'apt-cache rdepends' on ocaml would probably be the easiest way to do it 'correctly'. Hmm, I've just checked and fink's apt-cache doesn't support

Hi, Apparently it's only me and the maintainer using this package :) For over 2 weeks now this package has been broken for me, the error is the patch checksum which can only be handled by the maintainer. As an aside: when this happens fink should do the 'email the maintainer' error message,

[Fink-users] fink: apache2-common-2.2.9-4

2008-12-02 Thread Peter Stirling
I would feel much-obliged apache2-common could no longer hard-depend on bash-completion, as it interferes with tab-expansion (specifically with filenames with spaces). It took me some time to discover why my keyboard started not doing what I expected of it, and I'm at a loss as to why the

2008-11-13 Thread Peter Stirling
Hi, I'm trying to install apache2, and I'm blocked because I can't build file-4.24-1, which it depends on. The problem arises because 4.24 is no longer hosted on any of the mirrors (the current version appears to be 4.26 and 4.25 is the legacy version). I tried making a trivial

PyObjC depends on the internals of the ObjC runtime which is why 1.4 is not working (on 10.5), they don't have a source drop for 2.0 - you have to use svn to get the branch (I assume that this is because they don't think many will be building python for themselves when they can use the Apple

Perhaps some sort of postgre-db-running package would be a good idea? It could depend on the installation of any of the versions of postgre and allow packages (and users!) the ability to depend on it being installed and running. It could probably error on install in the case where the user
