i got xfree86 4.3 installed...installing bluefish fink asks for xfree86

i installed bluefish with darwinports and have xfree86 installed with
fink. i ended up with libiconv in /opt/local/lib and /sw/lib. following
is the error message:
/opt/local/bin/update-desktop-database

what is this about?

being a born lever puller i dumped it and installed libxml2 with
fink...no problems

i don't know where this libxml.framework came from.
would it be safe to delete it? is it not a part of macosx?
It is not part of MacOSX. With MacOSX, There is libxml2 in
/usr/include/libxml2 and in /usr/li

what did i do wrong? how do i recompile php to be threadsafe?

when i start a program it starts with the top of it off screen so i
can not move it to the center of my screen or sometimes it starts
with the majority of it so far to the right that it is 75 % or more
off screen...what is causing this and how do i remedy?

i can't see the mysql database although test is there. i created a
database sunshine and it is in /sw/var/mysql as well as test and mysql.
i can see them under webmin but not when i start mysql from command
line. doing
/sw/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password' seems to work but
/sw/bin/

while installing koffice from source i get
