Thanks.  That seems to fix it. I also note that I have

c++-4.2                          gcov-4.2
i686-apple-darwin11-llvm-gcc-4.2 llvm-g++-4.2
cpp-4.2                          i686-apple-darwin11-llvm-g++-4.2
llvm-cpp-4.2                     llvm-gcc-4.2

should these be removed too?  Some are just symbolic links.
