Dear James and all, I finally got xmms to work!! On suggestion of James I first removed the ~/.xmms directory and then I installed xmms 1.2.8 from unstable from source. Now everything is working. I have no real clue as to what was exactly the cause why it didn't install previously. Thanks to e
