Still, I think a better way to handle this is fixing apt to make
I completely reinstalled Panther (and all its updates to 10.3.7), as my
apparently "isolated" install of gcc-3.4.2 had infested my /usr directory.
Attempts to manually remove the components made my system hang at reboot.

Where does this thing come from? Are you running Tiger or did you
install a self-compiled g++ on top of the one from the developer tools?
