I completely reinstalled Panther (and all its updates to 10.3.7), as my apparently "isolated" install of gcc-3.4.2 had infested my /usr directory. Attempts to manually remove the components made my system hang at reboot. Now apt is happily installed (as well as many other fink troubles I was havin
