[Fink-users] XMMS / Esound = no go

G'day. XMMS - I love it (I loathe iTunes, heh) but I just can't get it working. It refuses to talk to esound. I've tried reinstalling both the XMMS and Esound packages, after upgrading fink, but it hasn't helped. XMMS gives me the error Please check that: 1. You have the correct output

Audiofile/gnome-audio are installed - I originally installed xmms from binary (apt-get install xmms) but it won't talk to esound (apart from not playing content, xmms appears to work fine). I've then tried to compile xmms, but it also tries to compile a whole heap of gnome things too, and I get

First my setup: I use all source this time around, Dec tools - no binaries. I have found through past experience that mixing the 2 is just not reliable (for me ,anyway). Yeah - this is my first experience with OSX, I can't really format at the moment (I'm mobile, not home, so I cant backup
