I was wondering why everytime I connect to a database it autmatically tries to
connect to a DNS server.

I had to get a new computer because my last one died on me. Now after having
copied my projects over from my backups I have the problem where Firebird is
not being recognized as being installed. I have installed the newest release
from the website. What have I done wrong on the install?-
Do you know of anyone who has done testing to see what resources firebird
and the .net client take on a per connection?

Will there be a problem with over 300 connections to the firebird database?

Hey Not sure if you have been looking at the Deadlock thread, sounds like
you have the same problem I have.

Are you serious? Some of these threads are created by events from objects.
Basically what I have is several socket connections that are raising the
received data events on seperate threads.

Ok all of my routines that access the database do call the dispose method.
The problem still seems to exist. There is only 1 database connection to the
database right now but there are multiple threads accessing the Connection.
Does the FBConn object not allow multi-threading?

Well the application that I have developed is a multi threaded application
that is continuously executing SQL Commands. Are commands automatically
committed once the dispose command is called?

I am having a problem with my application where it
occasionally will deadlock. How would I go about removing these deadlocks? The
deadlocks occur when I am executing the .read function of a
fbDataReader.

Although you correct in the sense that you can not integrate it into the
ide. However the Firebird framework will work on the express line of
products. You can programmatically connect to databases.
