If you plan to use this in a multi-user environment, do test it there too.

First you should isolate whether it is a problem with Firebird or the
operating system. What is the overall system performance. For example,
if you try to copy a big file, what speed in MB/s do you observer?

Which 2.1 version exactly?

Is this the real value, or are there spaces between the entries, size

(firebird 2.1, centos, classic) I have this in the firebird.conf file
TempDirectories = /tmp;/var/tmp
and yet, only /tmp was used and then the query quit with and out-of-space
message.
Can anyone see what it wrong with it, or is this a bug?

Dear List,
i'm running Firebird SQL 2.5.1 on a 64bit FreeBSD 9.0 machine. We are
using a .NET 2.0 based accounting application from two Windows machines on
a LAN accessing a database no bigger than 10BM's. From time to time (after
30 minutes, or 5 hours) the clients disconnects from the db and can
Thanks for the reply Thomas
I forgot to mention that the 1000+ attachments we are expecting is over about

Finally I created a store procedure that I call it with a string parameter
"1,1,1,2,3,3,4" and creates what I need. I think is only way to get what I need.
Thank you all for your time.
