So after upgrading to v2.5.4 CS x64 Linux I have had the load running for a few
hours now.
It looks really good, Mutex wait of below 7% and significantly higher
performance so I would say problem solved.

I already have it set to 30011 which should be okay compared to the default of
1009.

Also try to change the LockHashSlots in your Firebird.conf to:

Restart Firebird(or computer) and maybe you will have a lower %

So I have upgraded to v2.5.4 CS 64 bit and it looks promising. I am running the
exact same load as before but the Mutex wait figure is now hovering around 8.5%
and isn’t increasing like it did before.
Hopefully that is the problem fixed, next step will be a full backup and

Having just checked the Fb_lock_print stats now it is up to 65.1%.
I am going to try upgrading to v2.5.4 CS 64bit and will see what happens.

Just as an FYI - Dimitry is *not* one of the IBSurgeon guys - he happens to be
the Firebird project's lead developer. You can find out a bit more on who

Hopefully Dmitry will come up with some answers. He seems to be the man that
knows. I’m sure he was one of the IBSurgeon guys at the recent Prague seminar
on performance tuning etc.
In our case we have two near identical boxes running the same OS and firebird
config, one does a bit more than
I am also curious as to why you are seeing such high mutex wait percentages
and would love to see some responses.
During load testing of one of our systems we noticed the same thing, by
migrating the test environment to SuperClassic 2.5.4 we were able to get
better throughput over Classic 2.1.5 (w
