The Days Creek Evaluation, in my opinion, was a wonderful combination of adult summer camp, a top notch workshop and a festival of lovely horses. I went to the evaluation expecting to work hard, meet friends and learn. What I came home with was a new appreciation for the quality of the evaluation experience plus fulfillment of my other expectations. I think the registry and the evaluation process are upholding a standard that will preserve a very desirable horse. This was my first performance evaluation and I was impressed by the detailed comments, how they dovetailed with my knowledge of my horse, and the degree to which the performance expectations were maintained. All of this came across in a very supportive manner. I overheard one participant say to her mare as they walked to the arena for a conformation evaluation, Were going to a party. And that it was, a party with a serious mission. So thank you to the evaluating staff and my fellow participants for creating such a fun and meaningful three days. My other thank you goes to Catherine Lassessen and her staff. Hestehaven was a wonderful site. The arenas were ready for whatever conditions the weather brought. Materials for obstacles were available for practice. The staff was flexible, creative and willing to offer support whenever it was needed. Neither heat nor rain posed a discouraging situation.
