No Jean, Stellalite has decided that she likes it here, and
even though she will test our patience once in awhile, she is basically like
all of the other Leidjo / Stina kids. Smart, funny, a boss mare. Dispite
standing out in that pasture for 17 years with no training, she now halters,
leads well and gives up her feet. My farrier was pretty wiped out the first
time
we attempted to trim her. Last time she was done, he was bragging how she
let him put all 4 up on his hoof stand w/o an army of people holding her
down. She only had one holder and stood quietly, pulling faces, but quietly.

She and I do a " dance " every day though, and Im pretty sure that she
might never give up this annoying little habit....

She races over and SCREAMS for food, when its time to feed, and you make
the corner to her paddock. Then, she charges poor Fjreda, who before MS THANG
showed up, was the top of the heap with whoever I had her with.
She then races into their stall and gives the " stink eye " with those
pretty amber eyes until you pick up her hay. Then she tap tap taps with her
hoof
on the loud metal stall till you throw her hay in.
Well.....not to be discouraged, I first started waiting to throw her food
until she put her foot down. Sounds easy, right ? Done it before, and I have
always been able to wait the offender out and re-train to keep those hoofs
on the ground.

Oh no. Not Little Stella ! We would turn to stone and they would study our
bones before she would stop. So, plan 2. I would put DOWN her hay, unlock
and open the stall door, chase her out back with a stern SHHHHHHHHHHHHH$%^&
*(), then quick shut the door, lock it, grab the hay and toss before she raced
back in. Now that her feet have been straightened out from the nasty
condition she came with, shes as fast as greased lightening. There is also
major
ice and mud Im standing in.

It might be my bain to listen to her tap tap tap with that demanding smirk
unless I get some speed skates and a really long head start. She is a
character and we love her.

Sander is fine. I talked to his dad the other day but forgot to ask for new
pics. I will send you those others. Lisa
