After seeing all the long legged draft hitches at the Denver Stock show, I
am pretty sure that the "no exaggerated trot" rule relates to an abhorrence
of the animated high action in hitch horses, and the temperament sacrifices
that go with it in an animal that is meant to be a working, useful all
purpose draft and riding animal.

I think there is no doubt this rule is a reaction to the draft hitches
