I have several black leather dressage browbands for sale. Some are plain, some
are fancy, some new and some used. They range in size from 151/2 to 16 1/2
inches and all are too small for either horse's head. I can't believe the
fjord is now in a 17 inch brow

Hi Everyone,
I have a couple oversize fly masks that ended up being
too big for my warmblood gelding who has a fairly big
head (wears an oversize dressage bridle). They are
just laying around here taking up space. If anyone has

A woman at the barn where I board my fjord has an interesting fly mask for
her horse, made by Cashel. It has an extra hole at the top so the forelock
can come through and be outside the mask. This seems like a great thing to
me as cr

I require leather halters or at least ones with leather break -away. I have
2 really cool nylon halters with velcro break-away, but can't find those
anywhere anymore! My reason for requiring them is that I have about 20
boarded horses here in fairly lar

Hi Kate: you are not going to believe this...I can't even wear a halter on
Storm. The bigger, older gelding grabs it in his teeth and leads him
around by it. Also a lot of people in here shudder at the thought of
wearing a halter in the pasture.

I put them on under the halters and make sure the velcros are clean. I still
have a few others who scratch them off, but my fjord keeps his on...he likes
his :-)

Kate...how the heck do you keep fly masks on your Fjords? If Storm
doesn't take his off by himself, my hubbys Appaloosa gelding is only to
happy to help with the removal...and Storm does the same for him! We have

I have a Fjord with a rather large head and fly masks can pose quite a
problem. (Not to mention that the other Fjord sems to enjoy pulling
the mask off him as well!)

The fly mask I just started using is made by Absorbine. It covers both the
face and ears and is really full around the cheek area. I bought it mail
order from Jeffers (call 1-800-JEFFERS for a free catalog).
Of course the first time I put it

I have no problem with Baldur's mask, though he is out with a morgan who
isn't that orally fixated. B himself isn't bad about those things either,
he's more interested in eating the grass in his paddock. I swear this time
of the year he gets just enough

The question, I believe, was how does one keep a fly mask on a Fjord?
1) Duct tape
2) Bungee cords
3) Super glue
4) Replace every five minutes as needed
5) Only when they're sleeping
6) Invent a full-body fly suit
7) Muzzle each Fjord

Anyone have any luck fitting and keeping on fly masks? I have every size
imaginable and they all fit those big fjord cheeks kind of funny and they
take them off often.
