Ruth BushnellI was very sorry to read Catherine's post saying that it is too
late to reach the BOD before the meeting... I am hoping that at least one of
them will catch my message (below) sent this morning and pass it on... if any
of you know of any way to catch one of them feel free to pass it on. Thanks,
Ruthie

Re: Thanks to Secretery Lassessen's invitation for member contribution
submittal to the upcoming NFHR BOD meet in Florida. I request the nature of
this letter (improved transparency and prior action accountability) be
acknowledged on the agenda, please.

In an ongoing observation of two Fjord email list forums this past year, it is
glaringly apparent there is a dire need for a more comprehensive reporting of
NFHR activities. Several members have indicated their knowledge of NFHR action
is very often retroactive, where they would prefer foreknowledge, and be given
an opportunity to participate in proposed action.

The NFHR bylaws http://www.nfhr.com/PDF/NFHRBylaws.pdf that clearly support
and specify their desire, address these concerns in Article V, A 9, ..that the
NFHR BOD "solicit (ask for) constructive comments and concerns from the
general membership." Article VIII, A4, requests that "meeting written records
be available monthly on the NFHR website, and quarterly in the FH" These
reports are to include d) financial statement and e) "standing and special
committee reports and (f,g) announce action items, events and activities. Many
members have indicated that Minutes are far too condensed and omit proposed
action.

I feel that these concerned members, in their express desire for transparency
and prior action accountability, represent a progressive and oncoming mindset
of a more comprehensive registry membership awareness; which correctly prefer
"group think" over that which must presently seem to them, a hierarchy.

Compliance of these bylaws (as prescribed by law) would encourage member
participation, engender harmonious working relationships, and negate the
necessity of a member's advocacy group.

Respectfully and constructively submitted for the advancement of the Norwegian
Fjord Horse Registry.
