Obviously Gjest is a terrific stallion, who certainly does "have
it", but what helps here also, is the fact that he was being ridden
correctly. How many times have we seen horses come round with one rider,
and not the next?

Whether driving or riding, dressage basics are the key that unlock
even a wonderful stallion's natural talent. For that matter, any horse's
talent. It must have been great fun to watch Gjest being ridden by such
a gifted rider.

Easy enough to see past....I am fortunate enough to have raised a
very nice grandson of Gjest, by BDF Malcom Locke, out of an "A" Premie
mare. FM Julian will become our herd sire next year, and we have high
hopes for him. Jules has "suspension plus" in his gaits, and should make
an awesome riding horse next year as well.

Gjest is indeed fortunate to have owners who love him and appreciate
him. It would be lovely if all the horses in this world were viewed in
such a manner. Carol's letter to the List gave me pause in thought, as I
attended an auction this past weekend....pititful sight. Not sure I'll
be doing that again...too hard to come away from unscathed. Sigh....had
I the resources, all would have come home with me. (much to my
husband's dismay ofcourse....LOL)
