recieved this note from Eike Schön-Petersen
(Secretary, IGF)
Dear Tillie,

thanks for your mail and for visiting our site. We just started with our
homepage this year and haven´t come around to putting it in English yet.
"We"
are the German Fjord Horse Association "IGF", which is the national breed
representative for Fjord Horses. Our association has about 3000 members.
There
are about 1500 registered brood-mares in Germany. They are registered by
regional associations in the different federal states. Breeding stallions
have
to be licenced for breeding and have to pass a performance test at the age
of 5,
where they are trained an tested at a central testing station for 30 days.
They
are judged under saddle and also regarding their disposition and stamina. We
are bringing out a booklet with colour pictures and pedigrees of about 60
stallions currently active in Germany, these include almost all licenced
stallions from all the major bloodlines. This booklet will be for sale in
March
in time for EQUITANA, the great international horse trade fair at Essen,
Germany.

We will try to put at least some of the information on our homepage in
English
in the near future! Please tell your friends about us, we´re always happy to
keep in touch with other Fjord-enthusiasts!
