On Saturday (10/15) I received my NFHR Ballot and candidates bio's. It was
encouraging to see 10 candidates listed. A healthy organization should have
members who want to be an active part. For unknown reasons, paragraphs 2,3
and 7 of my original bio were omitted. I felt this information was
important and meaningful so I am sharing my complete bio as submitted to the
NFHR. Hopefully other candidates bio's were complete.

HOWARD FIEDLER
Bio for NFHR BOD Nomination

The membership of the NFHR as a whole is our greatest asset. We each,
individually bring to the Registry a limitless source from which to draw.
It is my goal, if elected to the Board of Directors, to channel those
resources in a fashion conducive to the future of this great breed.

Our membership is varied beyond what most breed associations are comprised
of by virtue of the versatility of the Fjord Horse. Generally other breeds
are known for one discipline. The Fjords have proven themselves to be able
to do it all, and along with the talents of our diverse membership; their
backgrounds, resources and creative use of their horses; we have excelled in
all disciplines.

In 2006 we have an opportunity with the 25th Anniversary Celebration to show
the world what we have done with this great breed of horse. It is an
occasion of a lifetime to present what we have assembled in terms of
bloodlines. This breeding legacy, combined with our resources and individual
talents, have made a place without compromise, for this historic horse in
the modern world. It is a time to be proud. Keeping this in mind, I plan
to fully support the successful production of this celebration.

I choose to run for a position on the NFHR Board of Directors because I want
to utilize and encourage our membership to become involved, in whatever
capacity they are able, in the promotion and enjoyment of our wonderful
Fjords. To continue to build the NFHR off of the strong foundation those
before us have made. To collectively help keep this breed genuine and pure.

I am a strong supporter of the NFHR American Evaluation system and have seen
first hand the benefit, not only in the quality of the horses that have been
presented, but also in the educational opportunities offered to the
participants.

My wife, Sophie, and I, with our 15 years of owning, breeding and showing
Fjords, have grown along with the rest of you. From our first Fjord horse
to the current 25 head (including five standing stallions) we proudly raise,
train, show and sell our horses from our Green Valley Farm in Galena,
Illinois.

I founded and captained, for 38 years, a graphic design company in Crystal
Lake, Illinois, which was known for its high product quality and loyalty to
our employees and clients. Because of this, I bring to the table extensive
experience in vision, organizational and interpersonal skills. I have a
deep respect for the membership of the NFHR and, as a steward of the
Norwegian Fjord horse, a deep love and respect for this breed. Thank you
for considering my application.

Sincerely,
Howard Fiedler

In addition, I am a lifetime member of NFHR. I have also been very active
in the MWFHC especially with the planning and organizing of the educational
winter meetings and clinics since 1999.

Thank your for reading my complete bio, I would appreciate your vote.
Please feel free to call or e-mail with any questions or comments.

Sincerely,
Howard Fiedler
