Fred's note:  I followed the directions below, and YES all my preferences
had been changed to YES send me the junk stuff.

If you have registered for a Yahoo ID and DON'T want all the junk stuff,
then follow the directions to stop it.  I had noticed that I was getting a
heck of a lot more junk mail in the last several days.

This is probably the reason.
