Digest #227 was just chocked with items that I wanted to comment on.

I was sad to see Steve's post on diminished voices. I personally think the
List is an important part of the Fjord community. I lurk most of the time, but
I always find the discourse interesting.

The Ontario Fjordhorse Show is this weekend at the Royal Canadian Riding
Academy. Cheryl Beillard is the organizer and has done a terrific job of it.
I
am hoping that other List members will be attending the show and can post some
results. I expect that Cheryl is going to be too busy this weekend to be
on-line.

I have a vested interest, naturally. Curt Pierce (also a BOD candidate) is
en route with 3 stallions. He is bringing his own OH Wynn (Flotren) and LFF
Ulend (Erlend), plus my stallion, Ironwood Blitzen (Gjest). This is Blitzen's
first show. I'm sure he is wondering why the trailer ride is taking so long,
although if there is enough hay in front of him, perhaps not. So if anyone
sees Blitzen this weekend, tell him that his mama says to be a good boy with
Uncle Curt!

Cheryl was able to secure the judging services of Bob von Bon for the show.
I don't remember if he is judging all of it or just the conformation. Anyway,
I am excited to have such a noted expert comment on my stallion. Neither
Blitzen nor Wynn have been evaluated yet, although 2005 looks like a
possibility.
Curt and I both want to hear Bob von Bon's comments.

I also know that Carol Rivoire is going to this show and I hear she is going
to drive, too. Carol, we all know you practice on those driving vacations.
I'm also looking forward to her comments on Blitzen. I believe he is the only
Gjest son standing with Holunder lines on his dam side.

Unfortunately I can't come to the show, much as I enjoy visiting Canada. I
actually have to work on Monday, which is a good thing since I have to pay
Curt for training Blitzen in draft and driving.

I do have a number of my own Fjord horses for sale -- two older mares and two
weanlings. Here's the link to the sales list if anyone is interested.
http://ironwood-farm.com/html/sales_list.html.
If the page appears to have weird heiroglyphics at the beginning, just scroll
down. I am having a fight with Net Objects Fusion (aka Net Objects
Confusion) about that particular page. Either that or the host for my site is
very
slow on the updates. So much for technology.

I have 4 foals coming in 2005. This includes one from FC Madellin who is a
full sister to FC Gwendellin. Maddie has been bred to the aforemention OH
Wynn, a red dun. We have no idea what color to expect next spring, although
Maddie would prefer a white dun I think. She has become very attached to our
2204
gray dun colt by LFF Ulend, to the point that she had to be weaned from him
too even though she was not his dam. There is much staring over the fence
even
now. I think Maddie is tired of being the only white dun in a herd of brown
duns.
