Just for perspective, a girlfriend called yesterday to say that, when she
went to check on her OTT, she had to give him his ulcer meds.  He also had a
scrape down the inside of his leg due to (probably) an EasyBoot buckle
because she had left the boots on overnight because he appeared to be so
footsore.

He also had a hives, with a huge dinner plate sized swelling on his belly,
plus a puncture wound in knew that was all swollen up.

I NEVER have leg scrapes on my Fjords ...probably due to thicker skin and
hair.

I also went on a walking trail ride with a friend with her new expensive
reining prospect.  Granted, he was three years old and had never seen hills
before.  But, in a few hours of slow walking, with some hills, he popped a
splint and came up with a hock swelling.

There is a lot of anguish involved in owning a less hardy horse.
