My favorite case - We had just gotten our first Fjords; 22 year old Ellinor
and her 2 year old daughter Islys. Dad & I had started working with Islys,
who took to cart like a fish to water. One day while I was at work, Dad &
Mom were going to drive Islys a bit. Dad went out, caught, groomed & hitch
up the horse and was driving her around the yard when Mom came out..... And
promptly asked him why he was driving Ellinor instead of Islys? <G> As far
as we have been able to find out Ellinor had never been trained or used as
anything but a brood mare, but other than acting like she had no idea what a
bit was for she accepted the cart completely.

I do agree totally with whoever said it's the horse itself, and not it's age,
that determines whether they'll make a driving horse or not.
