Hi. I have seen several fjords crossed with other breeds including
thoroughbreds and paints and what happens as far as I could see is you lose
the best qualities of both breeds. You get a hot or untractable fjord with
compromised conformation and you lose t

I do have to agree about keeping out fjord crossbred horses. I have seen
photos of
fjords crossed with quarter horses - and they weren't pretty!
The color skjevet was bred out of the breed many many years ago, as far as I
know.
Don't know t

Hi Jen!
What other odd variations/colours are you intrested in? I used to work on a
summer camp with +80 fjords 1984-90, so I have many photos. We had fjords
of all colours, some of them with undesirable white markings. No
'skjevets', but

I don't have any more photos of this color - I sure wish I did! I would love
to find
reference photos of odd variations of color and/or markings on fjords for my

Are you referring to the model-horse list? Guess I got 'em all started when I
thought the Breyer fjord would look good in other fjord duns - and skjevet
(fjord
pinto), as well!. I don't know if this color exists NOW, but it did over 30
years
