This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We use a Barefoot TrailRider saddle, and love it. We have been using it since August with a regular saddle pad; just got the one designed for it but have not tried it out. And I also replaced the standad pommel insert with the wider insert. For the rider (my daughter and I share), it has been the most comfortable saddle I have ever been in. Close contact with your horse, but still cushy. My trainer is so impressed after a couple of rides she is in the process of replacing all of her trail saddles. Also, it looks very cool :) The saddle is brown, we have the brown saddle pad, and brown tack. Ours is nubuck, which does not clean up as easily as leather. Some other users have noted that they tend to slip getting in and out without using a mounting block, but we have not had that problem at all, and being clumsy riders, we tend to be slow heaving ourselves into the saddle! For the horse, Joe seems to have no issues. We have not ridden for more than 2 hours at a clip, but there are no signs of discomfort at all and the sweat patterns are even. I decided to replace the pommel with the wider edition because I happened to run my hands under the pommel pieces while my daughter was in the saddle, and just didn't like where the pressure was falling with the narrower pommel. I'll never buy any other type of saddle. Kate and Joe (basically, the best pony ever) -----Original Message-----
This message is from: "Steve Sessoms" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Has anyone ever owned or known someone with or ridden in a Barefoot or Trekker treeless saddle with a proper pad? I love the way they look, almost medieval, which suits big ponies/little cobs like ours to a tee. Hate to buy one without getting the skinny on them first though.
