This message is from: Steve McIlree <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Well, we've just finished our most talkative month to date with 1080
messages posted in January. Last January was also a high-point in
list traffic up to then. Guess it probably has something to do with
 cabin fever.

I'd like to remind everyone once again to check that your email
programs are set to send plain ASCII text messages to the list. There
are some HTML encoded messages that I have to repair every day. I
will start sending them back to the sender from now on. If your
message takes longer than you think it should getting to the list,
you might want to check your format settings.

The fund raising drive for the list was a complete success. I was
able to send a check to our host last month paying us up thru the end
of the year. I've built a file of all who contributed, which I will
post next year so everyone will know whose turn it isn't to pay for
the list in 2001. There was even some excess, out of which I would
like to contribute $25 to Nancy Lehnert's tribute to David Klove in
the name of the entire FjordHorse list.

I've been asked several times about the password to the chat area on
the list Web site. I'm sorry, that I haven't yet revised the Welcome
message to carry the password. Anyway, the password is "Fjords_rulE".
The password should be typed without the quote marks, and with the
casing and underscore exactly as above. I've also been asked if I
thought the password was really necessary. My answer is yes, I've
seen too many chat rooms that were open to any web-surfer ruined by
 foul-mouthed kids.

Remember, if you want to temporarily turn off your subscription, or
turn it back on after returning from an absence, or change to or from
the digest version, or even to unsubscribe from the list forever, you
can use one of the handy forms found on the Web site at:
