I have to say though that Hubbard almost killed a pony of mine and after that
experience I would never send a Fjord with them. My pony mare was sent with a
bale of grass hay and strict instructions only to feed her that hay but the
driver "knew better" and decided to feed her the straight alfalfa sent with a
bunch of tb's also on the load. When we unloaded her the idiot was just like
"man your pony ate twice as much as any big horse on the truck" I tried to
explain to the drivers about pony's and founder and why she had grass hay but
the guys were clueless. The pony was very gassy and had diarhea for several
days and the vet said we were very lucky she didn't founder (she looked like
she gained a couple hundred pounds on the trip).

At any rate since then I've used Bill Roberts Horse Transport a number of times
with good luck and recently shipped Frodo across country (CA to FL) with
Pegasus Horse Transport and he did great. Pegasus of all things was actually
timely (picked up and dropped off when they said they would to the half hour),
were great about calling me every few hours, stopped regularly but didn't do a
multiday drop off at a hub like a lot of the big shippers will on a cross
country haul (important to me - I didn't want Frodo sitting around a facility
for a week or so). I'd definitely use them again.

I have used Hubbard and found them to be very professional, and their
equipment was horse friendly. They haul TB's between tracks around the
country, and are most economical if you can deliver your horse to the
closest track to which they do routine runs.
