And yes, Jerry, we can "agree to disagree"!
 
Such great discussions on the hoof trimming-should get more folks to  
thinking about what they want for their horses hooves!
 
Anyway, as to the 'pinched hooves', this comes from very knowledgeable  
people, that, when the hoof is raised, it  becomes smaller.  Then,  when put 
down, 
it spreads out, so, when a shoe is nailed on, the hoof is up  (smaller) and 
when it is put down with the shoe on, it spreads and walla, a  pinched hoof.  
Believe it or not.  All I am going to say!
