There are smtp implementations done in AS3. You can use it, but due to
security-sandbox, you would be required to configure your server to serve a
policy file via socket.
If you don't control mail-server and can't configure it to serve policy file
(that allows socket connection at desired port),
I am sure, there would be neat way of doing it. Right now, I can imagine of
using a php script that would split images into tiles and return data
(individual tile urls metadata).

It looks like button labels are vibrarting/shaking while effect is played.
Perhaps something is trying to align the label center (vert, horiz), when
button size changes - that's causing this.
Are you using standard buttons? Have done anything (code changes for label
alignment)?
