Sorry - took me a while to get around to building a small example app. But thanks for the LCV solution - works like I expected the ArrayCollection filter to work. So, this will filter the list after it gets to 5 items and then once it's filtered, the addItemAt calls no longer work. Thanks - cri

Hi Alex, I found some examples that did it that way. At first I tried setting the style on the itemrenderer itself or otherways just affecting the node - but to no avail. This way works the way I excpect (the nodes get an icon based on their type) - *except* for the NullPointerException/TypeError
