It seems to work pretty well. It would be cool if your app had selections for some of the starting configs, like gliders, etc. as found at:

Over the holiday weekend I put together a Flex-based implementation of Conway's the Game of Life. If you aren't familiar with it, just click some cells on and then press the start button.
