Apologies for being slightly OT with this, I'm not too sure if there are any public disucussions about Apollo <http://www.adobe.com/go/apollo> outside of blogs and figure Flexcoders is a good close match for an audience.
I've just blogged about the potential use of Apollo to create non-web applications<http://danny-t.co.uk/index.php/2006/12/21/non-web-apps-with-apollo/>using web technologies with the forthcoming release that is generating rather a lot of buzz lately. I also mention a kind of demographic amoungst developers between web app developers and desktop app developers. Two questions really, Firstly do many of you consider yourself a web app developer and NOT desktop app developer or would you consider yourself as both, is there a clear distinction? Secondly, have many of you thought of desktop apps you could create using your web development skills that Apollo might enable that you previously hadn't considered? Or is your first thought for desktop apps to use a traditional desktop programming platform? As I mention in the post, I'm aware this isn't where Apollo is aimed, but certainly seems like it is going to be exploited for such. Just wondered what the rest of you thought? Cheers, Dan -- http://danny-t.co.uk
