Charles,
I have an Alpha 87A amp also and have not had that problem at any time. I
normally run the 1.6.3, SVN 567 (with Jeff's console) or the latest SVN
669 (which by the way I sure do like the console changes) and do not have
an issues on any bands. You might want to check the X2 Dela
Charles,
I have an auto tune ACOM 2000A that also senses freq for
tuning (ACOM is the company that built some Alphas years
ago as you may recall). I have not experienced a problem
using VOX SSB or other modes when driving it with the
SDR1000. But only use it on 80 m and above. Does this
occur if
I've come across a problem with the SDR-1000 that occurs with the official
release 1.62 and the newest SVN release, so this may be a hardware problem
with my radio and not a software problem.
I took the SDR-1000 down to 40 meters for the first time tonight to work in
a SSB contest. Everytime I
If you have wheel mouse you can simply roll the mouse wheel
to make the radio tune in steps that are the same size as you
have set for the "Tune Step" size in the dialog between the
two frequency displays.
I'm hard pressed to think of anyway to improve upon its
current behavior for getting the tu
I asked for this a year ago.
A work-around is to use the Ctrl and up
or down arrow to set the frequency to the
nearest quantum. You can set that step
size with Ctrl and right or left arrow.
Be sure to submit an enhancement request
for it to the Flex site.

Have you tried disconnecting *all* your microphone connections and then
monitoring CW on your external RX to see if it is a simple ground loop
on that side of the setup?

Sounds like 60Hz noise or grounding issues to me.

I just noticed while listening to my SDR1000 TX signal on another radio,
that the cw note was nice and clean, but there is a very loud hum on the
signal as well. It is still there with the power on the SDR turned down to
0. If I reverse the situation and listen to the other radio's TX signal on
Is there a way to "discretize" the frequency when one right-clicks on the
mouse to get the cross-hairs then clicks on a part of the spectrum? Maybe
there is a way to do this, other than having to go to the VFO box and "fix"
the frequency?

I don't plan to update the down-loadable ZIP of current SVN's more
than maybe twice a week, however some more good stuff has happened
since the svn 665 I posted for download the other day.
SVN 669 is ready to download for those who can't use Tortoise at:

If you are plugged strait into the computer's USB and
you are loosing connectivity, I would be looking for a
PCI USB card. I would turn off the native USB ports
and run the USB stuff off the new card, or add a
parallel port. I was using a firewire card with my
laptop that had extra USB port
Lee,
We have an AT-200PC that we are evaluating for use in our next generation
radio. It is highly unlikely that we will adapt it for use with the
SDR-1000.
