I tried WSJT here using SVN 1914, WSJT will receive fine but will not
transmit the tones. I reverted back to SVN 1836 , TX / RX all works fine. I
also tried SVN 1849 with no success ... I'm using the com port from the
computer to key the Flex 5000A, so no problem there. I also have the VAC set

Do you guys know at about what frequency the tone is?
I don't know if this is related or not, but I was just testing out my
new 5000 this morning (using my version of the Console which I'd
compiled back on the 15th or so), and, when in TUNE mode, I noticed that
there was a bit of AM modulation
Just flip the headphones around on your head and the test will pass :-)
All kidding aside, if memory serves me correctly, the headphone jack is
connected directly to the TRX board, so I don't see how it could be wired in
reverse. But you never know

Ray,
I have powered speakers plugged directly into the Pwr Spkr Line Out jack on
the rear panel of the Flex-5000A and I hear a pure tone in the correct
speakers. The left tone is a little higher in pitch than the right. I also
observe the same behavior listening with my headphones. I am
I have tried this with two meters and not able to read any voltage. I unplug
the cable from the Line Out on the sdr 1K and measure across the bottom end of
the plug and the tip.
With the digital voltmeter on AC and clicking the Test button in the setup page
I read zero NADA.
I have taken off

Read your email and did the test.
SVN 1917, Heil Pro Set plugged into front phono jack.
Tones sounded pure and in proper ear for each portion of Audio Baland Test.

Do I measure voltage on the line out cable then? I did so it is zero.
I also set this up as you said below and went to the audio and click test
and measured zero.
I have a SDR1K.
So I went back and pulled up 1.10.3 version and ran the old test and
measured 1.6
So I should be ok to do it
You may need to use the built in signal generator to do this. Set the RX
mode to Tone/Output and set the scale to 1.0. This should give the same
effect as the older test.

This is far too important an issue to let it be decided by a small number of
opinions. We should vote. How many for Ian. How many for Tim.

Let me correct something in my earlier post. The tones are reversed only in
the headset. The external speakers are correct. Sounds like an issue with
the wiring of the front panel phone jack on my 5000A. Also, the garbled
tones I heard earlier with SVN 1917 are now pure. I don't know what

Before I post a bug report, I wonder if anyone else has noticed the

speaker/headphone, right in left.
3. SVN 1917 - Audio tones are

Are you sure you have the ports set right on WSJT it can be tricky to
