Yes. Without any good way to sync it with the signal you are watching,
you can't get a stable display. Not too useful.
Also, the number, time - microseconds, isn't too useful.
I think Lee has put this to rest. The front end is STOUT and will handle a
very high signal level, but if you want to add decoupling, it can't hurt.
My RX2 antenna is in the near field (5 feet) of my transmitting antenna and I
have no problems running 100 watts.

Greetings, Flexers:
I am trying to understand how SDR uses the database and how the operator can
use different versions of the database. Let me paint this
scenario...someone tell me if I have this correct and this is how it works:
1) There is a file, DATABASE.XML, that SDR always references and

Several times I have tried to use the scope mode of the display. It
seems to be a time-domain scope (like an oscilloscope) but without an
easy way to change sweep rate or to trigger/synchronize. I was trying

There is an interesting sig starting at 14067.1 KHz right now (1352z).
It consists of 8 carriers that appear to be PSK (guessing). By ear it
sounds like it is framing at about a 6Hz rate. The first four carriers
are spaced 300Hz apart as are the second four. There is a gap of about

Well done, Bill! 311 q's was hard work yesterday. I tried N1MM a couple
times, but came back to Writelog. Comfort level much higher. I am so
accustomed to deep fading from 6 and 160, that hf condx yesterday didn't
seem bad at all. Perspective, I guess.

Really enjoy S&P with the Flex. Can't imagine how many qsos I must have
missed in the past as I tuned past them during a pause in transmission.
Although I rarely contest seriously any more, I certainly have enjoyed
contesting with the Flex for the year or so that I have owned it. Low
