Better is relative because it is the interaction between the computer and what IRQs it is sharing with the Firewire card that really makes he difference in performance. If it shares none, then the performance will be better that if it is shared by 2 or more devices regardless of the card select

Jim Are you saying that using HotWheels, you must rotate the mouse wheel through many revolutions to see any frequency change? The amount of frequency change is related to the Tune Step Choice. If the Tune Step is 1 Hz, then a rotation of the mouse wheel changes the farthest right digit (red)
