[Flexradio] Has anyone tried this?

In my perpetual quest to speed up XP, I have experimented with moving the PowerSDR folder from disk to ramdisk. I found a persistant ramdisk utility a few weeks ago but now cannot re-find it, but it appeared to me that it caused a reduction in DPCs. I suspect running PowerSDR from a flashdrive

Neal, When I upgraded to my FLEX-5000A, I had to replace my old XP machine. The XP machine exhibited extremely long DPC's (up to 4000us) which occurred each time the disk drive was accessed. Could not find a way around the problem. The new PC came with Vista. Thankfully, the VISTA machine has

I wouldn't think so with the imminent arrival of the V/U module for the FLEX-5000. Particularly since the V/U capabilities for the FLEX-5000 are not compromise bands added to a radio to give it a DC to daylight feature set. -Tim -Original Message- From:

Hi Tim, That's great, however I have a Flex3000 for the portability but would also like UHF/VHF SSB/FM base.. I assumed that if the VHF/UHF module was not just a tack on, then it shouldn't be difficult to interface it into a stand alone unit.. -Original Message- From:

It isn't a tack on, but it does use a substantial amount of the guts in the FLEX-5000. The V/U frequencies are mixed down to the high HF bands and then fed into the TRX board so the RF can be converted to I/Q and then digitized before being sent to PowerSDR. -Tim -Original Message-
