Made my first ssb contact. Reports are that my audio is very good but too
bass, my voice is very low, they said I need more treble. I have looked and
can't figure out how to do this. I assume there must be an equalizer that I
can use somewhere, just can't find it.
I am using my skype mic
Look in the PowerSDR menu bar. Also refer to the FLEX-3000 Owner's Manual on
how to enable and use the EQ (equalizer) Hint: page 44 119.
I am not sure how all this is going to work through a PC sound card. You are
going to have experiment a bit setting the EQ.

Will the PowerSDR equalizer work on audio coming through the VAC input like

Should still be the TX EQ as long as it's enabled and not in DIGU/DIGL mode,

I think you are correct .. Somehow I got stuck in my mind that that the VAC
inputs bypassed equalizer, compander, etc. regardless of mode.
Eric - try what Tim has suggested -- check out Mode specific Controls,
Phone controls in the manual .
Also, many PC sound cards' software have
I believe that if you are in SSB mode and use VAC, all of the signal processing
(EQ, Compander) will be enabled. Digix modes disables all of it.

it is useful to listen to yourself on a second receiver with headphones to hear
the impact of the settings, if you can. provided the filter in the rx is wide
enough. tx into dummy load. works for me anyway..the 10 band eq is GREAT for
shaping Tx audio..makes my cheap dynamic mike sound a LOT
The way I configure my outgoing audio is like so:
Reduce the drive to 0.
Press the QUICK RECORD
Key up and speak as normal.
Un-key.
Stop QUICK RECORD
Key up (0 drive)
Press QUICK PLAY
You can then listen to your audio.
On the WAVE Settings just make sure you change the Options to select

Further to a parallel thread, I think it was Tim who said that the delay in
2.0 release was caused by an increase in Eric's family. I trust there is
no problem there. But I fear the real reason is the lack of space in the
Downloads box on the left of the home page! Perhaps Gregg could move
There has been a new harmonic added to the KE5DTO household this morning;
Samuel Ray Wachsmann. He and Eric wife are doing fine. Congratulations Eric!
This, I am sure will put a small speed bump in the delivery of the beta while
Eric is on maternity leave, but I am sure he'll get a few lines of
OK I'll be the one to ask, how small is a small speed bump? 1 week maybe
2?
Also congratulations to the family.

I've used a new (Feb '10) ALS 600 with my Flex 5000 without any issues. At
first I also was concerned about the absence of an ALC line. Like the other
responder (using the ALS 1300), I just keep the drive level sufficient to
drive the amp up to the desired level and not exceeding 600 watts.
